Tips Sought In Case Of Runaway Teens

DETROIT (WWJ) - Family members are frantically searches for a pair of missing Detroit teens.

Cousins Dayja Jones, 16, and Lasha Leggett, 15, disappeared at around 9 p.m. Monday from their neighborhood near City Airport in Detroit.

The girls told relatives they were running away because they got in trouble for staying out past dark.  They were last seen leaving a home in the 19,000-block of Hickory in a red or burgundy Pontiac Grand Am.

Dayja is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weights 115 lbs. She has brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion. Lasha is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 130 lbs. She has brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion.

Police said both teens are in good physical and mental condition.
