NOVI (WWJ) – The city of Novi has issued a “boil water” notice to some city residents because of a water main break this afternoon.

It affects those north of  Twelve Mile Road and east of East Lake Drive, Old Novi, and Novi Roads.

It’s recommended that you don’t use water from your tap for drinking or cooking until it is boiled for five minutes.

Officials will continue to test the water for bacteria until it is clean. That could take up to 48 hours.
