Home Depot Hiring 1,500 For Spring Season

DETROIT (WWJ) - It may still be winter, but a local home improvement retailer is already preparing to hire over a thousand people for the spring season.

"Spring is a time of year when our customers are doing all sorts of spring projects inside and outside the house. Whether that's painting, working in the yard, whatever it be. So it's our busiest selling season," said Holmes. "And really, for us, when most people think of Christmas for traditional retailers and department stores, spring is really our Christmas."

Holmes said that the company will hire as many as 80,000 seasonal workers across the country. Many of those jobs become full-time after the 120 days spring season.

What kind of jobs are available?

"Everything from lot associates to sales associates to cashiers - working in gardens ... all sorts of opportunities for folks to get their foot in the door and although these are seasonal positions they can often turn into more permanent - long term positions," he added.
