Bowling Green Shoots Past Western Michigan 70-60

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — A'uston Calhoun scored 24 points and Bowling Green shot 63.6 percent in the second half to defeat Western Michigan 70-60 Wednesday night in a Mid-American Conference game.

Calhoun scored 13 points after halftime, when the Falcons (10-14, 5-6) hit 14 of 22 shots to pull away from a 30-30 halftime tie.

The Broncos (15-9, 7-4), who remained tied for the MAC West Division lead because Toledo lost to Buffalo, shot 48.5 percent (11 of 24) in the second half.

Bowling Green led 42-40 with 14:18 remaining before a jumper by Luke Kraus started a 14-2 Falcons run for a 56-42 lead with 7:07 left.

Crawford finished with 13 points and Chauncey Orr 11 for Bowling Green. Richaun Holmes had eight points and nine rebounds.

Nate Hutcheson and Austin Richie scored 14 each for Western Michigan, and Shayne Whittington had 13 points and 15 rebounds. Hutcheson now has 1,009 career points.
