DNA Links Burglaries Committed 7 Years Apart

PAW PAW, Mich. (AP) - DNA pulled from evidence in two southwest Michigan burglaries separated by seven years has authorities believing the same man committed both crimes.

MLive.com reports Friday that a ski mask was left behind at a Paw Paw Township home in 2005 when the homeowner chased a burglar away.

Gloves were left behind last July when a neighbor chased a man who was trying to steal motorcycles from an Almena Township garage.

State police say they found DNA matches on the mask and gloves.

Paw Paw Township and Almena Township are in Van Buren County, southwest of Grand Rapids.
