Ann Arbor Spark Sets Meeting Schedule

ANN ARBOR -- The entrepreneurial support organization Ann Arbor Spark Monday announced the following meeting schedule for the coming weeks:

Health Care Reform Update
Thursday, Feb. 21: Ann Arbor Spark will offer an update on health care reform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Spark Central, 330 E. Liberty, Lower Level, Ann Arbor. An interactive discussion aimed at business owners with 25 or more employees. Expert panelists will discuss important aspects of the Health Care Reform Law including legality, tax law changes, Census considerations, employer shared responsibility, and post-election planning opportunities. Hot Shots: Career Connections
Tuesday, Feb. 26: Ann Arbor Spark offers its monthly "Hot Shots: Career Connections" event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Arbor Brewing Co., 114 E. Washington St., Ann Arbor. Bring your resume, and come and mingle with growing, innovative companies in a fun and relaxed environment! This event is only for talent seeking opportunities for themselves. The Selling Smart Workshop series will be held the first Wednesday of the month. Wednesday, March 6: MichBio and Ann Arbor Spark present their monthly BioArbor event for the Ann Arbor-area biotech community from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spark Central, 330 E. Liberty St., Ann Arbor. This event will be live-streamed starting at 6 p.m. Speakers will include Elyse Kemmerer, Bruce Markham and Julia Owens. Michigan Energy Forum - Geothermal Electricity Generation
Thursday, March 7: Ann Arbor Spark will present its monthly Michigan Energy Forum event from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spark Central, 330 E. Liberty, Lower Level, Ann Arbor. This event will be live-streamed starting at 5:25 p.m. Michigan has had success recently with district and campus-scale installations of ground source heat pumps for facility heating and cooling. While still considered nascent compared to other sources of renewable energy, geothermal energy has significant potential, and market adoption of this technology could accelerate if policy, education and technical training headwinds are addressed.
