Holly Man Charged With Child Porn

HOLLY (WWJ) - A 45-year-old Holly man faces multiple child pornography charges after he was caught exchanging  sexually explicit photos with a minor online.

Officers on Valentine's Day arrested Chad Alan Cole and searched his home, seizing several electronic devices.

An FBI investigation is ongoing, but Holly Police Chief Michael Story said they suspect there are multiple victims across several states.

Talking to WWJ Newsradio 950 on Friday, Story credited the bust to vigilant mom who called police. "The mother walked in on something and just didn't let it get explained away," he said.

Police say Cole was previously convicted in July 2006 of a misdemeanor for furnishing obscenity to children, but was not required to register as a sex offender after he completed probation in that case.

Cole is being held at Wayne County Jail, awaiting a federal detention hearing set for Wednesday. He could face decades in prison if convicted.
