Students Busted Over 'Vulgar' Harlem Shake Video

Harlem Shake vDuck Suspension by WhiteBoysMakingNoise on YouTube

MILFORD (WWJ) - A large number of students at Milford High School have been disciplined over what they did in a classroom after school.

It's gotten nearly 17,000 views on YouTube, but the parody video to the song the "Harlem Shake" has gotten a lot of students in hot water.

The video shows students stripped down to their shorts and underwear, dancing to the song -- one wearing an Obama mask and another holding what appears to be a live duck.

Schools spokesperson Kim Root wouldn't confirm that the students were suspended, which has been reported.

She did tell WWJ Newsradio 950's Sandra McNeil, "The students who participated in the video violated several aspects of our student code of conduct, including vulgarity. In one the videos ... that was taken down, there were some racial slurs."

Root said the students lied to gain entrance to the classroom after hours.

She said, with the growth of social media, school officials want to make sure that something like this never happens again."We want to send a very strong message that, you know, it will not be tolerated," Root said.
