The pieces are coming together for the Orion Music + More festival slated to hit Belle Isle June 8-9, 2013.

The lineup includes headliners Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers and popular acts including Irish punk band Dropkick Murphys, and dubstep DJ BASSNECTAR.

Tickets are available to the public on March 1st. General admission passes are $150 and VIP passes are $750. Pre-sales for Orion e-list subscribers are Wednesday, Feb. 27 and Met Club, Metallica’s fan club pre-sale is Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Organizers promise no surprises at your ticket checkout with no service charges added to the ticket price.

In addition to the music there will also be activities and attractions at the festival including a car and motorcycle show, the Hit The Lights Films screenings hosted by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, creepy attraction Kirk’s Crypt, a mini ramp for skateboard demonstrations, a Metallica Museum, Ktulu’s Emporium and community interest info booth My World Village.

promotional video on the Orion Music + More official site features an animated Spirit of Detroit statue. You’ll hear historical audio from a public domain film narrated by then Detroit mayor Jerome P. Cavanagh. The video was made in 1965 to promote Detroit for a bid to host the Olympics.
