Young Man Killed In I-696 Crash

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal crash Thursday afternoon along eastbound I-696, west of Orchard Lake in Farmington Hills.

Witnesses say the driver of a Jeep lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a drainage ditch. That driver, a 22-year-old man from Macomb Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said alcohol was not a factor and that the driver was wearing a seat belt. State troopers are continuing to investigate the  crash.
