CareerWise for Engineering Professionals: Transforming Talents Into The New World of Work

SOUTHFIELD -- The Engineering Society of Detroit will host a career development technology event Wednesday, March 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at ESD Headquarters in Southfield.

Career development is no longer something you focus on in your twenties and are set for life, it is ongoing and constant. New technologies, globalization and the world-wide competition for jobs demand that we continue to grow our skills and knowledge throughout our life.

This workshop will provide you with tools to help you meet this demand as an engineering professional. Participants will create a personal mission statement, set career goals, identify the best way to research new opportunities and build their network while also crafting a personal brand with consistent messaging.

Presenters include Caryn L Mateer, a senior partner with Transformational Leaders, International, with more than 20 yearss of experience in leadership and supervision, and Kathleen Riley, a senior partner with Transformational Leaders, who has coached hundreds of people in the areas of wellness, leadership, and career.

The event is $25 for ESD members, $35 for non-members, or join ESD for $54 and attend the event free. Registration includes light snacks.
