PONTIAC (WWJ) –  An apparent panhandler was shot and killed outside a Pontiac business at about 7 p.m. Sunday at a gas station on Featherstone Road, near M-59 and M.L. King Boulevard.

When deputies arrived they said they found a 33-year old Pontiac man who had been shot. Investigators then followed a trail of blood back to a nearby strip mall, where a man told police he shot the victim because he’d been begging for money outside his store.

The victim died at the hospital. The suspect is jailed.
