Gunman On The Loose After Triple Shooting In Inkster

INKSTER (WWJ) - Police in Inkster are searching for the gunman who opened fire on three people with an assault rifle overnight.

Police say they received a call around just after midnight Saturday that two people had been shot in the 3500 block of John Daly, just south of Michigan Avenue near Penn Street.

A minute later, police say they received another 911 call that someone was shot on Kitch Street, just one block away from where the first two shootings were reported.

According to investigators, all three subjects had been together in a vehicle on John Daly when a man dressed in all black came from the corner of Penn and John Daly streets and opened fire on the vehicle with an assault rifle. The suspect then took off running.

Police say the three victims were taken to area hospitals where they're all expected to recover from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot 7-inches tall.
