Man Struck, Killed While Crossing I-94

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A 43-year old Detroit man was killed late Monday night while trying to cross a freeway in Roseville.

State police say the victim, Lawrence Johnson, stopped his car on I-94 near Little Mack after hitting the guard rail at around 11 p.m.. He was then struck by a vehicle while running across the freeway, toward the median.

An investigation showed that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the case of the victim but that the driver of the car that struck Johnson had not been drinking.

A portion of I-94 was closed for several hours, through early Tuesday morning.

No charges have been filed as state police continue to investigate.
