TROY — Tata Technologies, a provider of engineering services and product development IT, has opened its all-new North American Engineering and Innovation Center in Troy.
The 10,000 square foot center, at 800 Tower Drive, Suite 200, is currently staffed with 60 engineering professionals and the company expects to increase that number to 100 by December.
The new Engineering and Innovation Center is the North American home to the Tata Technologies Vehicle Programs Development Group, led by Kevin Fisher, president of vehicle program development. Fisher’s home office is located in the new center.
The VPD Group is responsible for the development of the Tata Technologies eMO (electric MObility) EV study, which was revealed at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The VPD Group supports automotive manufacturers worldwide from metro Detroit and three other automotive centers of excellence in Coventry, England, Pune, India and Stuttgart, Germany.
Fisher and the VPD Group will host an open house for industry media and other guests on Thursday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing demonstrations of Tata Technologies’ thought-provoking initiatives for the current and future global automotive landscape — including the reveal of eMO-C, an all-new variant of eMO, aimed at the commercial market.
“We studied the global commercial market, analyzed the competition and emerging technology trends, and evolved the eMO to produce a compelling, best-in-class commercial concept,” Fisher said. “We’re looking forward to revealing eMO-C to the media and to the public on March 14.”
