DETROIT (WWJ) – What better way to mark the 13th day of the third month in the year 2013 than by welcoming new life to the city of Detroit?

“One mother — we dropped off two onesies for her. And, as we were leaving the room, I heard her say these are so cute … so it’s been successful,” said Hooper.  “It seems they’re really into it; (they’re) obviously very tired. They did give birth today. So, we really appreciate them celebrating.”

Hooper said he was a bit nervous, but did have a chance to hold one of the newborns —  a baby just 4-hours old.  He said he looks forward to repeating the event next year; perhaps expanding it to other DMC  hospitals.

The “Born in the 3.13” event is part of a year-long celebration of the Pure Detroit company’s 15th year in the Motor City.
