Report: Jason Jones Signs With The Lions
DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) A report from Adam Caplan says the Detroit Lions signed DT Jason Jones today, and the Lions' own reporter Tim Twentyman chimed in on Twitter, saying Jones garnered a three-year deal.
Jones last played for the Seattle Seahawks and had 10 tackles and three sacks. Jones is brought in to replace Sammie Lee Hill who isn't expected to sign back with the Lions. According to Caplan, Jones fits in as a DT in the nickle.
Jones was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft (54th overall) by the Tennessee Titans. Jones, who lives in Southfield, Mich., played at Eastern Michigan.
For his career, Jones has 122 total tackles, 18.5 sacks in his 5-year NFL career.
