Southfield (97.1 The Ticket) - On Tuesday, March 20 more than 50 Dairy Queen locations in southeast Michigan will be participating in Dairy Queen Free Cone Day to benefit Beaumont Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network. Free Cone Day is a special event hosted on the first day of spring by Michigan Dairy Queen Owners to give back to their community. On March 20, participating locations will be distributing free cones of their signature soft serve from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to customers who make a donation to Beaumont Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network.

In 2012 nearly 30,000 free cones were served and more than $20,000 was raised to support local kids. 100% of guests’ contributions stay local to help purchase vital medical equipment and support life-saving care for more than 100,000 sick and injured children treated at Beaumont Children’s Hospital each year.

This event will help to celebrate Beaumont Children’s Hospital 25th Anniversary as a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Since 1988, more than $42 million has been raised to provide the best care possible for children in southeast Michigan. In that time, Dairy Queen has committed more than $250,000 to Beaumont Children’s Hospital.
