Hungry Gunman Arrested At Southfield White Castle
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Southfield police have one man under arrest following an attempted robbery at White Castle.
Police say the incident happened Tuesday at the White Castle on 9 Mile and Telegraph roads.
Workers told police the man walked up to the counter and announced a holdup. The man allegedly told workers "Give me a bag of burgers," before flashing a gun and demanding the cash register.
Meantime, an alert employee in the back room heard what was going on and called 911.
In less than a minute, three Southfield police officers arrived and caught the robber red-handed. One of the officers said in his nearly 30 years on the force, he's never caught a suspect so quickly.
The suspect, who was not identified, was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
