Workers Find Body At Riverview Landfill

RIVERVIEW (WWJ) - An investigation is underway in Riverview after a body was found in a landfill.

Police said workers discovered the body Tuesday afternoon at the Riverview Land Preserve near Sibley and Fort Street -- a dumping site for home demolition waste from several locations including Canada.

It was not immediately clear if the body is male or female.

The body was taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's office where they will work to determine a cause of death.
