Hug Forces Woman, Child Through 2nd-Floor Window

KALAMAZOO (WWJ/AP) - A simple show of affection caused a 50-year-old West Michigan woman and a 5-year-old child to tumble through a building's second-floor window.

The child hugged the woman around 11 a.m. Tuesday, causing her to stumble through the window, MLive.com reported.

Kalamazoo Public Safety Lt. David Boysen said the woman and child "were on the stairs" when "the kid ran up and jumped to give her a hug." Both fell 15 feet to the ground but were conscious and alert when police arrived.

Both the woman and the child were treated at an area hospital. Their relationship was not immediately known.
