Woman Killed in Southfield Nightclub Shooting

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A deadly night club shooting in Southfield has claimed the life of a 33-year old woman.

It happened early Easter Sunday morning at the Myst Lounge on Northwestern Highway, where authorities say several club goers began exchanging gunfire inside the establishment — and then outside from the parking lot. The woman was hit in the crossfire, and rushed by EMS to William Beaumont Hospital where she was  pronounced dead.

The investigation continues.

Police said it unfolded at 2:17 a.m. when Southfield police received a report of gunshots fired at the club. Preliminary investigation revealed several partiers had been ejected from the club following an altercation.

“Mention was made of retrieving weapons and returning,” police said in a press release.

A short time later, unknown people fired shots from the parking lot into the club.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to call the Southfield Police Department at 248-796-5500.
