DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It’s the weekend again, which means its time for some road work and intermittent lane closures in metro Detroit.
The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.
In Detroit/Wayne County, eastbound I-94 from Cadieux to 8 Mile roads, and westbound I-94 from Harper Avenue to French Road, will have single lane closures from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights for lighting and sign work.
In Detroit/Wayne County, westbound I-94 will have two lanes closed from Chene Street to I-75 from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday for bridge inspection.
US-24 (Dixie Highway):
In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Dixie Highway will have a single lane closed between Williams Lake Road and M-15 beginning at 9 p.m. Friday and ending by 6 a.m. Monday.
M-85 (Fort Street):
In Wayne County, northbound and southbound Fort Street is reduced to a single lane with a traffic shift between Oakwood Boulevard and Bayside Street until early May for utility work.
M-5 (Grand River Avenue):
In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound Grand River Avenue will have single lane closures from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily between Greenfield Road and Hubbell Street beginning today and ending Tuesday for signal work.
Beginning the week of Monday, April 8:
In Macomb County, northbound Groesbeck Highway will have a single lane closed daily from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. from Utica to 14 Mile roads starting Monday and ending Friday for water main work.
US-24 (Dixie Highway):
In Oakland County, southbound Dixie Highway will have a single lane closed from Williams Lake Road to M-15 beginning at 9 a.m. Monday through early May for sewer work.
M-53 (Van Dyke):
In Macomb County, northbound and southbound Van Dyke Avenue between Bordman and 37 Mile roads will have intermittent lane closures from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily Monday through Friday.
In Macomb County, eastbound I-696 will have a single lane closure from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily west of Schoenherr Highway Monday through Wednesday for sign work.
US-12 (Michigan Avenue):
In Dearborn/Wayne County, eastbound and westbound Michigan Avenue between Horger and Middlesex streets will have a single lane closure from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily Monday through Friday for utility work.
