Anticipation Building For Tonight's NCAA Championship Game

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WWJ) - For University of Michigan basketball fans, it doesn't get any better than this: the Wolverines will take on Louisville in Atlanta for the national title tonight, and everyone on campus is getting ready for the party.

"I was not alive when they were in the last Final 4," said U of M student John Coats. "This is a big moment for me."

Fellow student Luke McDonald says, "I'll be out of school early, out of work early and, maize and blue all day, oh yeah!"

Like many students, Coats has a lot of confidence going into tonight.

"They're gonna win and I'm sure of it and I'll put money down against anyone," he said.

Former Fab Fiver Pleas With Chris Webber To Attend Title Game

Jalen Rose, one of the original Fab Five members, is making a plea to former teammate Chris Webber to show up at tonight's title game. In a podcast for ESPN's "B.S. Report," Rose talked about why he thinks Webber has distanced himself from U of M.

"While he loves us like brothers, and vice versa, there has been a communication separation that has basically taken place since we all were teammates," Rose said. "I think the timeout had a lot to do with it."

Webber is still banned from the U of M program until next month as part of sanctions from the Ed Martin booster scandal during that era. Rose says other Fab Fivers Jimmy King and Ray Jackson are expected to show up. Juwan Howard has a game Tuesday night in Miami. It's not clear if he'll be there.
