Pop Bottle Bombs Go Off At 2 Michigan Schools

BANGOR (WWJ) - In southwest Michigan, Bangor schools were on lockdown after two pop bottle bombs detonated inside two lockers.

A male high school student is reportedly in police custody after admitting to authorities that he constructed the devices.

It happened shortly after 9 a.m. when someone heard a noise inside a locker at Bangor High School and then saw some sort of liquid dripping out of the locker. Within 10 minutes, the same thing happened in a bathroom at Bangor Middle School.

WOOD Radio reported all of the students were kept in classrooms and nobody was being sent home.

Members of the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department and Bangor Police Department are investigating all of the lockers.

No injuries were reported.
