Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, which means it's time for road work and intermittent lane closures in metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-696:

In Macomb County, the eastbound I-696 ramp to eastbound I-94 will be closed from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for reconstruction on I-94.

I-94:

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane between 11 Mile Road and Masonic from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday for reconstruction on I-94.

I-94:

In Detroit/Wayne County, eastbound I-94 from Cadieux Road to 8 Mile Road, westbound I-94 from Chalmers to French Road, and westbound I-94 from 8 Mile Road to Moross Road, will have single-lane closures from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday for lighting and sign work.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):

In Macomb County, northbound and southbound M-97 between Hayes Road and 14 Mile Road will have single-lane closures reconstruction starting Saturday at 6 a.m. until Monday, May 20.

Beginning the week of Monday, April 22:

I-75:

In Wayne County, the eastbound and westbound Eureka Road ramps to southbound I-75 will be closed for reconstruction starting on Monday at 6 a.m. until late May. Also, the right lane of eastbound Eureka Road will be closed intermittently from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays, and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, through the end of July.

US-24 (Dixie Highway):

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound US-24 between Frembes and M-15 will be reduced to one lane in each direction via a traffic shift in north of Andersonville Road. The work starts on Monday at 9 a.m. until Wednesday May 11.
