High Honors For Arab American News Publisher

DEARBORN (WWJ) – It’s a big weekend for Osama Siblani — publisher of the Arab American News, which is based in Dearborn.

He is one of five people being inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame this Sunday, and the first Arab-American immigrant to receive this honor … but Siblani says he knows he won’t be the last.

“I am sure that there are other people who are working hard and the time will come when they will be inducted … and recognized for their excellent work,” said Siblani.

Siblani said he hoped that other Arab Americans would be encouraged to become involved in the field of journalism.

Siblani, who has been publishing the newspaper for 28 years now, will be inducted on Sunday at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in Lansing.
