Man Attacked While Jogging In Ypsilanti

YPSILANTI TWP. (WWJ) - Police are searching for four suspects after a man was attacked while jogging in Ypsilanti Township.

Police say the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. last Friday near Grove Street and Georgina Drive, along Ford Lake.

According to police, the man was running when he observed four males standing on the sidewalk. As the man passed the group, police say one of the suspects punched him and knocked him to the ground. The other suspects then started to kick and punch the man while one of the suspects went through his pockets, according to police.

The man told police the suspects then got into a black Ford Taurus with tinted windows and fled the area.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • Suspect 1 - black male, early 20's, braids shoulder length, wearing a black Carhartt coat
  • Suspect 2 - black male, early 20's, braids shoulder length, wearing a black Carhartt coat
  • Suspect 3 - black male, mid 20's to early 30's, bald head, wearing a black Carhartt coat
  • Suspect 4 - black male, between 18-25, wearing a yellow sweater
