Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, which means it's time for road work and intermittent lane closures in metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Detroit/Wayne County, westbound I-94 from Moross Avenue to French Road will have a single-lane closure from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights for lighting and sign work.

I-75:

In Lincoln Park/Wayne County, southbound I-75 at Dix Avenue will be reduced to a single, left lane for bridge maintenance beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and ending by Monday at 5 a.m.

M-97 (Groesbeck Highway):

In Macomb County, northbound and southbound Groesbeck Highway will have single- and double-lane closures between 13 Mile and Utica roads beginning Saturday at 5 a.m. and ending by Monday at 5 a.m. for utility work. Utica Road at Groesbeck Highway will be closed during the same time.

US-24 (Telegraph Road):

In Wayne County, both directions of Telegraph Road between Van Horn and West roads will have single-lane closures beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and ending on Sunday at 5 a.m. for pavement work.

In Dearborn Heights/Wayne County, southbound Telegraph Road just north of Van Born Road will have a right-lane closure on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Beginning the week of Monday, April 29:

I-75:

In Oakland County, lane closures will resume on southbound I-75 from Saginaw to Grange Hall roads nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. beginning Monday for two weeks.
