70-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed In Crash

HOLLAND, Mich. (WWJ/AP) – Police say a 70-year-old bicyclist has died after being struck by a vehicle in West Michigan.

The Holland Sentinel and The Grand Rapids Press reported that man, identified as Gene Alan Mitchell, died Monday just before 9:30 p.m. Monday after being hit while crossing U.S. 31 at East 16th Street in Holland.

Police said Mitchell may not have heeded a traffic light. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
