Police Continue Search For Missing Muskegon County Woman

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Police have been conducting a new ground search in their investigation into the apparent abduction of a 25-year-old Muskegon County woman last week.

Police are now combing an area around the P.J. Hoffmaster State Park in Norton Shores where there were reports of gun shots heard over the weekend.

Officials are checking into whether or not the shots are connected to the abduction of 25-year-old Jessica Heeringa, who disappeared Friday night from a gas station in Norton Shores.

Investigators have been receiving dozens of tips since Jessica Heeringa's disappearance Friday night from a gas station in Norton Shores.

A man was questioned by police last night after being pulled over in a silver minivan that fit the description of the vehicle seen when Heeringa vanished. That man was released this morning and has not been charged.

Police say they have also interviewed and cleared at least four other people.

A $15,000 dollar reward is being offered in the case.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding this person of interest.
