NEW YORK (AP) – Police say a 51-year-old Michigan man has died after suffering a heart attack during the annual New York City-wide bicycle tour.

Police say Michael Boren went into cardiac arrest Sunday morning after crossing the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge that links Queens and Manhattan. He was taking part in the 40-mile TD Five Boro Bike Tour.

Authorities say he was declared dead on arrival at New York Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Boren lived in Almont, Mich., north of Detroit.
