According to various reports, Lions’ second round pick Darius Slay underwent arthroscopic surgery on one of his knees last Friday. Surgery will keep him from taking part in Detroit’s rookie mini-camp, which begins on Friday in Allen Park. Despite the procedure, Slay is expected to be on the field when Detroit opens training camp in late July.
Meanwhile, the Lions made a series of roster moves today, claiming Cory Greenwood and offensive lineman Derek Hardman off waivers. Greenwood played the last three years with the Kansas City Chiefs, while Hardman played for the last three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
