Legal Battle Ends, Detroit's Hotel Charlevoix Approved For Demolition
DETROIT (WWJ) - After a decade-long battle, Detroit's Hotel Charlevoix has been approved for demolition. The tear-down in Grand Circus Park could begin as early as next week.
For the past several years, bricks and glass have periodically fallen from the 108-year old building onto the ground below--almost hitting a child in one case.
The Charlevoix has been empty for the past 30 years.
