'Known Pimp' Found Dead Amid Sex Ring Investigation

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police say a "known pimp" suspected in a sex trafficking operation killed himself as officers conducted a search of his Southfield condominium.

A Michigan State Police task force investigating sex trafficking was made aware of the alleged situation involving Mark Luke White when a woman filed a police report in Southfield saying she was held against her will and forced to perform sexual acts.

When police went to the condo on Town Center -- they heard a gun shot and found that White had fatally shot himself.

No shots were fired by any task force members and there were no other injuries, according to police.

Authorities said White was convicted in 2006 for a crime related to sex trafficking by the U.S. Attorney's Office Eastern District. He served a 37 month sentence in that case.

A state police investigation is ongoing.
