Missing A Week, Family Says Taylor Teen Abducted, Then Released

TAYLOR (WWJ) - A missing Taylor teen is found, a week after her family says she ran away from home.

Fourteen-year-old Diamond Williams' family believes she was kidnapped by an older man.

Williams' aunt Bernice Reed says the teen is now in the hospital, after the man she says abducted her pushed her out of a car on Detroit's east side.

Reed says Williams has told them that she was heading back to another aunt's home after running away - when a man in a pickup truck blocked her and knocked her unconscious:

"And when she was unconscious, she was tied up in a basement, and she didn't know where she was," said Reed. "And he abused her, for those days, in the worst way."

Reed told WWJ's Zahra Huber that she has this message for teens: "When there's issues in the home, go to someone in school, if you have a pastor, try to resolve it ... don't run away, 'cause when you run-away you never know who (or what) harm you are going to run into - and there are a lot of bad people out here."

"Pay attention to any changes you see," implored Reed. "Check the Facebook, know who their friends are ... as parents we live in a day and a time now where this society, we have so much technology and kids are off into all of this - so we just have to be watchful. We have to watch our babies."

Police are not releasing any details.
