ImageSoft Hosts Public Officials In Budget-Stretching Tech Seminar

SOUTHFIELD -- Strapped budgets and stretched-thin staff have prompted  many city, county and state government entities to seek new ways to conduct business and to meet the service, transparency and policy demands of constituents. Next month, about 150 public officials from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio will gather in Grand Rapids for the annual ImageSoft Government Summit to explore how technology and collaborative projects can enable government to better serve constituents.

The June 12 Summit, which is themed "Citizen-Centric Government: How Technology is Transforming Government," will showcase innovative technology solutions used by state and local government to streamline and improve processes.

"Technology and strategies such as shared services are helping cities and counties nationwide maintain critical programs for citizens and, at the same time, reduce costs and operate with leaner staff," said Scott Bade, president of Southfield, Mich.-based ImageSoft. The Summit will provide steps and strategies for using technology to enable process efficiencies, savings and improved transparency and constituent service."

The Government Summit, which is free of charge to public-sector employees, will offer participants a choice of 17 small-group breakout sessions on how technology is being used to create efficiencies in the courts, law enforcement, the clerk's office, the back office, public works and throughout government. Participants will hear about real-world outcomes from end-users in state and local government.

Chief Judge John C. Foster, of the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in Macomb County, Mich., will deliver the keynote address. The Macomb County Court is currently in the process of implementing document and process management technology aimed at transforming the court to a paper-on-demand environment in which digital files replace paper files, and processes and productivity are greatly enhanced.

The Summit will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Western Michigan University Downtown Conference Center.  Pre-registration, which includes continental breakfast, lunch and conference materials, is encouraged. Government Summit participants are also invited to attend a pre-Summit golf outing and welcome dinner on June 11 beginning at noon at the Thornapple Pointe Golf Course in Grand Rapids.
