Datbull Debuts Rap Video After Turning Down MSU Scholarship

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Jay Harris, a star wide receiver who turned down a full ride to Michigan State University to pursue his true love -- rap music -- has dropped his first single.

Harris, who goes by the rap name Jay Datbull, regales his fans in his new video "Datbull 4 Life" with tales of women throwing themselves at him and days spent "in the hood" with his friends. He's in a graffiti-covered shed of some kind where he smokes pot between shots of himself trolling in an SUV and dancing on the street -- also smoking pot with his friends. It has more than 86,000 views.

Harris, who stands 5-feet-11 inches tall and weighs 162 pounds, was Philadelphia's 17th ranked senior, according to ESPN, and was the state's second-best high school wideout. He signed a binding letter of intent in February with MSU, but later turned it down to focus on his rap career.

So, what do you think -- Should he have kept his day job -- or is he about to explode on the rap scene?
