DETROIT — DTE Energy is seeking an implementation contractor to deliver an appliance recycling program for its electric customers.

The appliance recycling program removes inefficient working refrigerators and freezers from the electric grid and recycles 95 percent of the appliance.

The successful contractor will  develop an appointment scheduling tool for DTE  collect and transport working refrigerators and freezers from residential customer locations to the recycling location and electronically record the chain of custody of each appliance from time of collection through the de-manufacture process.

In addition, DTE requires the contractor to legally de-manufacture and recycle all collected appliance components and provide a work management system to track and report program information.

All parties interested in receiving more information about the RFI should send their contact information, referencing the appliance recycling implementation contractor program to energyop@dteenergy.com no later than May 17, 2013.
