PONTIAC (WWJ) - It's a big collection of "Man Caves" and it's coming soon to Pontiac.

Brad Oleshansky hopes to break ground by this fall on the M1- Concourse on Woodward Avenue at South Boulevard. Oleshanksy said he came up with the idea of car condominiums he saw a big need.

Oleshanksy said he came up with the idea of car condominiums when he saw a big need.

"There are over 50,000 classic cars in metro Detroit," Oleshansky said. "Most of them are stored in self-storage centers, warehouses ... people's garages, where they don't want them, because their kids' bikes are leaning up against them."

The plan is based on Oleshansky's research of other spots for passionate car lovers around the world. It will feature four to six buildings with 14 to 16 garage condos each.

"These are not just used as garages," Oleshansky said. "They're kind of like destinations for man caves." He expects the owners to decorate them up with a flourish.

The plan is for a gated community that will have plenty for the public as well, including an amphitheater, restaurant and shops.

"We've got an indoor event center that seems to be pretty viable," Oleshansky said. "We've got people that seem to be interested in using it for media events and car launches and Swap meets ... even weddings."

Oleshanky received preliminary approval for the plan from Pontiac. He said there are still a lot of hoops to jump through when you build a new project on top of what was once an old General Motors car plant.

So how much will it cost?

Oleshansky hasn't decided yet. He said that similar condos go for anywhere from $50,000 for a two-car garage to $500,000.
