Fired Teacher Reaches Deal Over Work As Stripper

GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - A teacher who spent a short time as a stripper has reached a settlement in a lawsuit that says a West Michigan school district fired her after learning of her previous work.

Details of the settlement weren't part of the documents filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Grand Rapids.

West Ottawa Public Schools have said Susan Brennan was fired in 2010 for poor classroom performance.

The district filed tenure charges against her that year that included dishonesty in grading and failing to use proper lesson plans and grading methods.

MLive.com says Brennan has denied the allegations and says she was targeted because she worked as a stripper while on a leave of absence.
