Enrollment for Great Lakes Cyber Academy Open for 2013-14 School Year

OKEMOS (WWJ) -- Great Lakes Cyber Academy, a full-time, virtual public high school that offers flexibility and an award-winning curriculum, has opened enrollment for the 2013-14 school year.

Great Lakes Cyber Academy offers three flexible graduation pacing options year-round (versus a traditional 10-month school calendar), so students have the option to choose the path best for their individual needs:

* Standard Pace: Students take a full course load in two of the three sessions.
* Accelerated Pace: Students attend all three sessions full-time, enabling them to graduate early or take post-secondary dual enrollment courses.
* Extended Pace: Students take a lighter than usual course load in the fall and spring sessions, but also attend the summer session. This option provides students with more time for outside interests throughout the year, while still completing a full workload over the course of the year.

Great Lakes Cyber Academy will host free parent information sessions throughout the spring and summer to fulfill the growing number of requests for information. At the information sessions, parents and students will have an opportunity to learn about the school's curriculum and thoroughly explore the program. They can also interact with school representatives. A complete schedule with dates and locations is available online or by calling (855) GO4-GLCA (855-464-4522). For those unable to attend an in-person information session, real-time online sessions with a school representative are available.

Interested parents and students are encouraged to learn more about Great Lakes Cyber Academy at one of the many upcoming free information sessions offered by the school.

The session schedule is as follows:
Monday, June 10, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Holiday Inn Express Ann Arbor
Tuesday, June 11, noon to 1:30 p.m., Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, East Lansing
