Coast Guard Rescues 4 On Lake St. Clair

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – The U.S. Coast Guard has helped rescue two adults and two children who were on a boat taking on water in Lake St. Clair.

The Coast Guard says it was notified Sunday by the operator of the 29-foot boat that it was taking on water about four miles from Beacon Cove Marina, which is located in Macomb County’s Harrison Township. Crews from the county sheriff’s department also responded.

The boaters were transferred to a Coast Guard boat and taken to shore.

The Coast Guard says the boat that was taking on water was towed to a marina and a broken intake hose was to blame for the problem.
