Suspect Sketch Released In Rochester Hills Sex Assault

ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) - This man may have done more than just loiter.

Oakland County Sheriff's Department investigators are trying to determine if two earlier suspicious person complaints are connected to a sexual assault at a Rochester Hills apartment complex.

Police said a woman was sleeping on her sofa at her apartment on Woodview Court, near Rochester Road, Thursday morning when she woke up to find a stranger standing over her. The man allegedly forced the victim to perform a sex act and asked her not to call the police before fleeing on foot.

The woman dialed 911 and a K-9 unit tracked the man about 100 yards before losing his scent.

Deputies said they'd responded to the same neighborhood on two other occasions when residents reported a suspicious person walking around the Woodview area. In both incidents the subject had left the area before deputies arrived. Now, detectives are wondering if it was this same man.

The suspect is described as a medium-to-dark complected black male, approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and around 40 years old.  He reportedly entered the woman's apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Dispatch at 248-858-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP (1-800-773-2587).
