Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - Know before you go! It's the weekend again, and road work crews are expected to be out in full force across metro Detroit.

The following projects were announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-94:

In Detroit/Wayne County, eastbound I-94 will have a single-lane closure Thursday from Cadieux Road to 8 Mile Road from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., and again on Friday from 9 p.m. until 8 a.m. Saturday morning for lighting and sign work.

In Wayne County, the westbound I-94 ramp to westbound I-96 will be closed on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. for sign work.

In Macomb County, westbound I-94 will be reduced to one lane from Masonic Boulevard to 13 Mile Road from 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for paving.

I-275:

In Oakland County, southbound I-275 will have moving intermittent single-lane closures from Haggerty Road to 8 Mile Road from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

I-696:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound I-696 will have moving intermittent single-lane closures between Lahser and Greenfield roads from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday.

I-75:

In Oakland County, northbound I-75 just north of M-59 will have two lanes closed on Friday from 9 until 11 p.m. for bridge inspections.

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound I-75 at 13 Mile Road will be reduced to one lane, one direction at a time, from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday for bridge inspections.

In Oakland County, the 14 Mile Road ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed Saturday from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. for maintenance.

M-1 (Woodward Avenue):

In Oakland County, northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue will be reduced to one lane between Webster Road and 14 Mile Road on Saturday from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m.

M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue):

In Macomb County, eastbound and westbound 22 Mile at M-53 (Van Dyke Avenue) will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday until 8 p.m. Sunday.

M-59:

In Oakland County, eastbound and westbound M-59 will have single-lane closures at Clinton River Trail on Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. for road maintenance.

Beginning the week of Monday, June 17:

I-75:

In Detroit, southbound I-75 will have two lanes closed from 8 Mile Road to I-94 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday through Friday weather permitting

I-696:

In Oakland County, eastbound I-696 will have multiple lane closures from the I-96/I-275/M-5 interchange to Telegraph Road from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.

US-12 (Michigan Avenue):

In Wayne County, eastbound and westbound Michigan Avenue will have daily single-lane closures at Ecorse Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. beginning Monday and ending in early July.

In Wayne County, eastbound Michigan Avenue will be reduced to a single lane at I-275 on Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

M-39 (Southfield Road):

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound M-39 near Michigan Avenue will have single-lane closures daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for bridge maintenance beginning Monday and ending in early July.

US-24 (Telegraph Avenue):

In Wayne County, northbound and southbound US-24 near Michigan Avenue will have single-lane closures daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for bridge maintenance beginning Monday and ending in early July.

M-59 (Highland Road):

In Oakland County, westbound Highland Road will have a single-lane closure at Duck Lake Road from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.
