Ann Arbor Firm's 'Find It Fix It' Challenge To Showcase Better Workplaces

ANN ARBOR -- Humantech, ergonomic workplace improvement experts, is accepting entries for its annual Find It - Fix It Challenge. In its seventh year, The Find It - Fix It Challenge recognizes and rewards simple and effective workplace improvements that increase productivity, improve worker morale, and reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.

The contest was derived from Humantech's RAPID Team Events, which are based on the concept of making quick and simple visible changes to improve ergonomic issues in the workplace.

The contest is open to all past and current Humantech clients. Organizations are asked to submit their best workplace improvements, highlighting the implementation of a creative, sustainable, and high-impact ergonomic solution. The submission process and step-by-step instructions, including entry form templates can be downloaded by visiting the Find It - Fix It Challenge website, www.humantech.com/about/find-it-fix-it-challenge.

The contest will run from June 24 to Sept. 13.  By late September, 15 finalists will be selected by a panel of certified professional ergonomists and Humantech staff members. Of the finalists, two honorable mentions and one first-place winner will be selected. The finalists will be notified by mid-November.

"For seven years now, The Find It - Fix It Challenge has showcased creative plant floor innovations that prove what may have been seen as unfixable can really be a neat and readily solvable problem," said Humantech president James Good. "The Fix It solutions are simple effective approaches to make the workplace work better by increasing productivity and improving quality."

The 2012 Find It - Fix It Challenge was awarded to Terex Aerial Work Platforms of Huron, S.D., for a pedestal weld station. Honorable mentions were given to Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in San Angelo, Texas, and Senior Aerospace in Sharon, Mass.

Questions about the online application process or the challenge can be e-mailed to jsinkwitts@humantech.com.
