Truven Gets Deals For HIE, Medical Info Database

ANN ARBOR -- Truven Health Analytics Thursday announced two deals, one to build and implement a statewide Health Information Exchange with the Georgia Health Information Network, and the other for its Micromedex Clinical Knowledge Suite from Memorial Health System, a three-hospital, 500-bed organization based in Springfield, Ill.

The GaHIN exchange will utilize Truven Health to provide clinicians throughout the state with a longitudinal patient history at the point of care by securely capturing real-time clinical and administrative data from electronic medical records, healthcare claims, CMS and other sources. It will be the fifth statewide HIE supported by Truven Health's platform.

The Truven Health platform is powered by CareEvolution and will implement advanced industry standards (for example, NwHIN DIRECT and NwHIN CONNECT - IHE PIX, XDS, XCA/XCPD, and ATNA) to create a tailored exchange for healthcare stakeholders throughout Georgia.

"We selected Truven Health Analytics because of their proven track record and consultative approach to working with us to meet our specific needs to create interoperability among disparate, unaffiliated healthcare organizations within Georgia," said Kelly Gonzalez of the Georgia Department of Community Health. "This partnership brings us one step closer to reaching our goal of full connectivity and true coordinated care with just one connection."
