Titus Young Is A No-Show In Court; Concussions Blamed
DETROIT (CBS Detroit) He's been keeping a low profile since a raft of public skirmishes with the law, but former Detroit Lions star Titus Young stayed way under the radar Monday.
He missed a court hearing.
USA Today reports Young was a no-show at a scheduled court appearance Monday in Huntington Beach, Calif., on a variety of charges stemming from allegedly breaking into a car lot to retrieve a car that had been towed after a spree of drunken driving incidents.
But on an appeal from his attorney, the judge decided not to issue an arrest warrant for the no-show while Young seeks psychiatric evaluation.
His attorney had said Young suffers from concussion-related brain injuries -- though "personal reasons" were cited specifically for the fact he didn't show up in court.
Young was cut from the Lions after a series of bizarre behavior, including on-field antics like punching a teammate and running the wrong lanes during games. He was picked up earlier this year by the Rams, and then quickly released again.
