Detroit Lions Sign DL Israel Idonije

Reports from profootballtalk.com say the Lions signed veteran DL Israel Idonije. Idonije, 32, played with the Chicago Bears for the last nine seasons.

Last season Idonije recorded 7.5 sacks, 48 tackles in 11 starts and appeared in all 16 games.

Idonije spent time at defensive end and defensive tackle last year.

It looks as if Idonije will be a replacement for Cliff Avril and Kyle Vanden Bosch. Idonije isn't the only defensive line guy the Lions have signed this off-season; They've also signed Jason Jones and drafted Ziggy Ansah.
