CHICAGO (CBS) — Those who got to see the Blackhawks rally to beat the Bruins and win the Stanley Cup last night won’t soon forget it, but unfortunately neither will those who didn’t get to see the big win, after a strong, fast-moving storm knocked out power.
WBBM Newsradio’s Veronica Carter reports it’s bad enough when the power goes out, but for Blackhawks fans with no electricity during Game 6, it was heartbreaking.
“Very disappointed to have missed it,” said Deb Lewis, of Rogers Park, who lost power just before the game started, and never got it back last night. “We didn’t really get a lot of rain, we just kept hearing thunder, and so that was kind of strange and surprising.”
